Summary

Chris is a seasoned designer, having over twenty years of print and web design experience working with a multitude of government clients – including the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Army Digital Media Division where he had the honor of designing several Medal of Honor micro sites for MoH recipients. Chris is currently working for the U.S. Army’s Enterprise Cloud Management Office as a UI/UX Engineer.

Chris has an active Secret Security Clearance and does not foresee any difficulties obtaining a TS/SCI clearance.

Professional Experience

Perspecta / U.S. Army Cyber Command & ECMO – UI/UX Engineer
July 2020 – Present
  • Designed multiple style guides for ECMO’s milSuite CMS and ServiceNow web portals.
  • Redesigned ECMO’s milSuite content. The redesign increased user engagement in the Army Cloud survey by over 70% throughout multiple Army organizations.
  • Recommended and guided U.S. Army leaders how to use the Army Public Affair’s custom CMS, CORE, as a means to publicly broaden the U.S. Army’s knowledge of ECMO as well as educate multiple Army organizations about the Army Cloud surveys.
  • Currently creating and adding the U.S. Army Cloud information to the U.S. Intelligence Community’s online sharing site, Intellipedia, utilizing HTML and GitHub syntax
  • Designing UI/UX within ServiceNow for the US Army ECMO web portal

OBX Tech, Inc. / U.S. Army Digital Media Division (DMD) – Web Designer
May 2020 – July 2020
  • U.S. Army Digital Media Division contract was taken over by OBX Tech in May, 2020
Designed nationally publicized Sergeant Major Thomas Payne’s Medal of Honor (MoH) micro site
  • Created all Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and YouTube related graphics for Sergeant Major Thomas Payne’s MoH site.
  • Designed a high fidelity media library for the CORE 3.0, the U.S. Army’s custom CMS, CORE 3.0
  • UI/UX design work included collaborating with development team to redesign the U.S. Army Families micro site and all related social media content for the U.S. Families micro site.
  • Conceptualized and designed a proposed home page redesign for www.army.mil

Link Solutions Inc. / U.S. Army DMD – Web & UI/UX Designer
June 2017 – May 2020
  • Primary responsibilities included assisting lead designer in conceptualizing and designing several UI/UX interfaces sections for an updated and custom CMS code named CORE 3.0
  • CORE 3.0 UI/UX interface work included designing a media library, image information and cropping for articles, profiles, team notifications, team and admin organization, Army page and navigation creation and a custom accordion creation tool.
  • Assisted DMD Design team in creating a robust CORE Help System – work included creating animations, videos, screen captures and text all created in the GitHub environment.
  • Designed five Medal of Honor micro sites for five individual MoH recipients – each MoH page received national attention on news casts, in print and online.
  • Assisted the Army DMD social media team to design graphics and custom illustrations to help promote U.S. Army events, notifications, anniversaries or special events

Arcadian Productions, DC – Independent Consultant Web Designer

  • Researched and presented to the Arcadian Productions shareholders the best options to expand their production business in and around the Washington DC area
  • Set-up, designed and maintained Arcadian DC’s first web site for two months prior to joining the U.S. Army Digital Media Division

Bluewater Federal / GSA – Digital Media and UI/UX Specialist

  • Utilizing GSA’s Drupal dashboard, was responsible for searching and fixing any GSA web pages that had HTML, CSS or UI/UX issues created by GSA authors
  • Redesigned and maintained multiple GSA web pages including the GSA Rate Per Diem table – the highest trafficked GSA page in 2017

EDSI / USMC – PM Ammo Division – Head of Web & UI/UX Design

  • Designed individual style guides for multiple USMC-PM Ammo web applications
  • Updated and improved UI/UX design of multiple USMC-PM Ammo web applications
  • Designed all UI/UX mock-ups and prototypes utilizing hand sketches, Axure, Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Guided EDSI staff graphic designers in the implementation of improved UI/UX designs

Sevatec Inc. / U.S. State Department – Web Designer

  • Worked with lead U.S. State Department UI/UX designer to create the look and feel for the redesigned U.S. Embassy CMS template which has been used at every U.S. Embassy around the world
  • Collaborated with U.S. State Department officials to design high fidelity mock-ups and prototypes for all sections of the Embassy CMS templates – including designing president and vice president
    pages, side bars, a mega menu used throughout the site and conceptualized travel and other embassy warning messages to be displayed if or when needed
